Our first night at the beach, Ben proposed to Katherine on a walk and we got to celebrate with them afterwards! He gave her a georgeous diamond ring (that she wasn't allowed to wear while in the ocean!). We were so excited for them and can't wait for the wedding in June 2008!!

We just returned from Dean's first trip to the beach! We went with The Rolf family and the Gesses and rented a beach house right by the water. We had a great time...other than the fact that John was VERY sick the whole time. He ran fever and stayed in the bed most of the weekend. He was able to venture out to the beach for a few minutes to see Dean experience the sand and waves and take a few pictures. It was fun watching Reed and Luke play. It won't be long before Dean is able to join right in to the sand fights!

Dean got to travel to Lufkin with me to attend my high school reunion. I had a great time seeing old friends and he had a great time seeing his grandparents! I really debated going to the reunion because I wasn't sure if my friends would be there. It seemed pretty intimidating to me to walk into a place where you somewhat recognize the faces, but really have no idea WHO these people are! I mean really, it has been 10 years and on top of that is anyone the same as they were in high school?! I actually found out that yes, some people are exactly the same! Not only did they look the same, but sadly, they acted the same (and we actually had a fight break out!). But that was just a few people, most had made positive changes and had grown up and made something of themselves! In the end, I was thankful that I went. It was good to reconnect with people and get to show off pictures of my baby boy!

Wow...Dean is six months old so we captured him in photos from every angle to preserve this momentus occasion! We had a great time with our photographer, who graciously came to our house to take the pics. We highly recommend her! She actually loved one of the pics of Dean so much that she used it in a magazine ad for her business! John is a good daddy and made Dean laugh the whole time. Dean got tired quickly and allowed us to get some great pics of him sleeping too. Enjoy!

We grilled out with The Verlanders & The Stokes. We had yummy burgers and grilled corn on the cob!
